Never Underestimate the Power of a Lovey!

We adore Baby Jack & Co. loveys! The tags are sewn shut so little hands and fingers can’t get stuck in the loops, and the blankets are soft, great for cuddling, chewing and grabbing.

By the time babies reach the age of one, they will often sleep better if they’ve developed an attachment to a lovey. Just about anything, of any size or shape, can be a lovey, but most kids are attracted to something that’s soft and cuddly. Babies love to grab, rub, smell, chew and suck on soft things.

Never underestimate the power of a lovey! A lovey can be so important when it comes to a child’s development. It is something a child can count on. A lovey will be there at night when mom and dad are out for the evening or sleeping in the next room. It’s something a child can cling to when they’re scared, hurt or just not feeling well.

Some babies attach to a lovey more easily than others. Each time you hold and feed your little one, have him or her hold the lovey. If your little one needs some extra comforting, offer the lovey. Bring it with you when your’re in the car, out on a stroll or doing something new. And, by all means, incorporate the lovey into your child’s bedtime routine. Keep at it! Attachment doesn’t occur overnight.

The Case of the Lost Lovey

Losing a lovey or forgetting it at home when you’re traveling can be traumatic for any child. It’s always a good idea to have a duplicate or two in case one gets lost, temporarily misplaced or just happens to be in the laundry when most needed. Make sure that you rotate them or you may be surprised that your toddler always prefers the dirty, smelly one and the clean one will just not suffice.

Our Recommendation

There are all kinds of loveys, but we especially love Baby Jack & Co. tag blankets. The tags are sewn shut so little hands and fingers can’t get stuck in the loops, and the blankets are soft, great for cuddling, chewing and grabbing. They come in so many colorful, fun patterns that are great for learning, too. If your little one struggles with independent sleeping or sleeping through the night, a Baby Jack lovey could be the answer to your challenges!

Please remember that the AAP Safe Sleep Guidelines do not allow for loveys in the crib prior to the age of one.
